Program
The expertise of the core members of the Developmental Faculty covers a broad range of specialties including language, cognition, socialization, affect and emotion, comparative and biological substrates of development, studies of children with Williams Syndrome and the development of written language. Laboratory and/or field research training is offered in each of these areas. These opportunities allow students to further define their intellectual interests and serve as a springboard for the development of the student’s MA thesis. MA developmental graduates interested in continuing their studies in doctoral programs have been quite successful in gaining admission to top programs around the country including UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, UC Irvine and Hawaii. Others have successfully pursued careers in research, business, education, and health care.
