Oscar Kaplan Postdoctoral Fellowship in Developmental Issues
Announcement for 2009-2011
This Fellowship will provide a two–year period during which the Kaplan Fellow can think, write, participate in the research of an established laboratory, and develop his or her own research program with guidance from a team of experienced researchers. Consistent with the professional life of Oscar Kaplan , the overarching goal of the Fellowship is to develop the skills necessary to be successful in the highly competitive arena of university research and teaching (please see Oscar Kaplan's Legacy). Specifically, it is expected that upon completion of the Fellowship, the individual will be well–prepared to conduct independent research, obtain extramural funding for his or her research, teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and mentor students at all levels in the conduct of psychological research.
The Kaplan Fellow will join the laboratory of an established researcher in the Department of Psychology at San Diego State University whose work is supported by federal grants or other extramural sources. Faculty members available and willing to serve as Primary Mentors for the current fellowship cycle are listed at the bottom of this announcement with links to their individual web sites.
