Our lab studies cultural issues in the delivery of mental health services for youth. The current focus of our efforts is the “TWIST” (TeamWork in Services for Teens) project that examines cognitive models at treatment entry for adolescents who are receiving outpatient mental health services through schools and clinics. This project is funded by the National Institute of Mental Health and interviews adolescents, their parents, and their therapists to test hypotheses about cultural competence through a “teamwork” model.
