The SDSU College of Sciences Minority Biomedical Research Support Program (MBRS) funded by the National Institutes of Health, focuses on recruiting and developing future biomedical and behavioral science researchers at the undergraduate masters and doctoral level. The program is directed by SDSU professor Dr. Emilio Ulloa, who was appointed to the role this fall. Ulloa along with Michelle Lopez (Associate Director), and Dr. Vernon Avila (Emeritus, Director MBRS, Biology) comprise the program's interdisciplinary management team. MBRS works with students and faculty mentors from Psychology, Biology, Chemistry, and the Graduate School of Public Health. This spring MBRS, along with the Minority Access to Careers (MARC), McNair, and the Center for the Advancement of Students in Academia (CASA) will highlight their students' research as they host the annual College of Sciences Undergraduate Research Symposium .
