Please join us in congratulating Dr. Benjamin Schneider, Adjunct Professor of Psychology at SDSU, who received the Michael R. Losey Human Resource Award by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) the at the recent 2009 SHRM Annual Conference in New Orleans. The $50,000 award acknowledges the major research accomplishments of human resource researchers who have significantly advanced the field of human resource management.

SHRM calls Ben “the world's leading expert on service quality,” highlighting the work he has done to show the link between financial results and key factors like customer satisfaction and employee engagement. Over the course of his career, Ben has made numerous contributions to human resource management research, including over 130 professional articles and 10 books.  His latest book is called Employee Engagement: Tools for Analysis, Practice, and Competitive Advantage (Wiley-Blackwell, 2009).

 “Dr. Schneider is in a league of his own,” said SHRM President and CEO Laurence G. O'Neil. “He is a master of explaining complex topics to management teams and showing them how research findings can make substantial improvements in their operations.”

Dr. Schneider is Senior Research Fellow at Valtera Corporation a Human Resources consulting firm with headquarters in Rolling Meadows Illinois just outside of Chicago and Professor Emeritus of Psychology at the University of Maryland. He currently resides in San Diego, CA, and is an adjunct faculty member at San Diego State University's Department of Psychology.
